Postdoctoral position in optomechanical spin sensing

The Department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience focuses on research, innovation and education within the fields of future electronics, photonics, bio- and nanosystems. The aim of the project is to develop spin sensors that use optomechanical readout of ultrahigh-Q nanomechanical resonators. Strained nanomechanical resonators have reached state-of-the-art force sensitivities, but are composed of dielectric materials. We now seek to functionalize these resonators with nanomagnets for spin sensing and combine this with on-chip optical readout. These systems can be applied for biosensing and material characterization. The Hybrid Quantum Systems Laboratory is a new laboratory at Chalmers. We offer a newly renovated lab space and a state-of-the-art nanofabrication facility.
As a postdoctoral researcher, your main responsibilities are to lead and conduct research in collaboration with others, and to coach PhD students. A Ph.D. in
Physics Applied Physics Nanotechnology Photonics Electrical Engineeringor other relevant field is required.
