Job Description

As the Regional Communications Lead, you contribute to added customer value, a strong brand and increased fashion perception by ensuring high quality Media Relations and PR & Communications activities, both internally and externally. You are a key player in protecting & balancing the narrative of the brand. You work towards aligned and cross-functional goals, driving omni sales performance and customer centricity in all parts of your work. You collaborate closely with the other teams in Customer Activation to be able to find synergies and maximize the effect of our earned communication. You will be part of the Region North Europe team which includes Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, UK & Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for communicating H&M messages in a trustworthy way, both externally and internally, together with HO and the Regional Head of PR & Communications
  • Responsible for appointed regional external communications projects covering Corporate PR. 
  • You support the Regional Head of PR & Communications in setting tactics and plans that will support regional objectives, based on insights from each individual market and with H&M’s customer in focus.
  • Guiding and collaborating with senior leaders and management on internal regional communications projects such as townhalls and other formats.
  • Guiding and collaborating with senior leaders and management on thought leadership projects.
  • In collaboration with Regional Head of PR & Communications, responsible for setting relevant KPI’s and a structured follow-up process for PR & Communications.
  • Give input, challenge, and support PR & communication activities on Sales Market level where relevant.
  • You are responsible for proactive & reactive Media Relations strategies/tactics to support regional objectives.
  • You are a key player of the Regional Crisis Management team as the back-up to the Regional Head of PR & Communications , where you support, guide and coordinate when needed. 
  • Responsible of the Regional Internal Communications stream 
  • Responsible for setting Regional Internal Communications Strategy and plan, ensuring effectiveness in both messaging & use of channel to achieve set objectives. 
  • You ensure the development of a strong overall regional communication plan, working effectively on a sales market level, requiring few adaptations and where synergies can be found between sales markets/other regions.
  • Responsible of executing on regional plan and content (articles, videos statements, messages, Q&A’s etc) and publishing for our Internal channels. 
  • Foster and maintain a good collaboration, ensuring the communications approach, with the local HR department on internal communications, employer branding, education activities and change communications. 
  • Responsible for securing the quality and tone of voice in all translations of global material used in the internal communications channels.
  • Responsible for driving the development of internal communication formats together with local Comms Specialists, local Communications Managers, and Regional Head if PR & Communications.

What you need to succeed:

  • At least 3 years’ experience from similar positions and/or within PR/Communications, on the agency or client side.
  • Experience of being a brand guardian in senior PR & Comms teams, knowing how to create results through PR & Comms on Brand KPI’s.
  • Experience from senior stakeholder management.
  • Extensive experience in media relations, both Corporate PR & Brand PR.
  • Strategic experience in Corporate & Brand PR & Crisis Comms. 
  • Proven track results in building &/or protecting the brand through PR, media relations & internal comms.
  • Experience in setting successful internal communications strategies and tactics.
  • Experience track record of driving results through informal/formal leadership.
  • Experience in analyzing results, setting KPI’s and developing reporting structures.
  • You have a strategic mindset and strong planning and prioritizing skills 
  • Strong project management skills where you optimize and make projects come alive through great execution.
  • You have excellent communication skills, including fluent written and spoken local language and English. Knowledge in other languages is meriting.  
  • You are an excellent relationship builder. 
  • Used to working independently to solve solutions and work towards goals.
