Indirect Tax Specialist (d/f/m)

We are looking for a dedicated and team-oriented new colleague to join our Tax Services team. The Tax Services team is a part of our Global Business Services organization and is characterized by a strong sense of commitment – towards the tasks, the business and the team. The Tax Services team is operationally responsible for tax and is spread over many geographies. The role reports to the Indirect Tax Reporting Manager who is based in Lisbon, Portugal and the Indirect Tax Specialist role will be based in Mannheim, Germany or alternatively Lisbon, Portugal or Gothenburg, Sweden.

Your Role

You are responsible for performing indirect tax related activities and services with specific focus on executing accurate and timely reporting and payments for all indirect tax returns for the applicable legal entities.

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

Responsible to prepare, validate and submit all indirect tax reporting filings and requirements for the applicable legal entities incl. maintaining indirect tax records and information.

Manages corrections, payments and/or VAT refunds, as well as manages and reconciles the VAT accounts.

Supports the indirect tax business partner and other stakeholders with input and requested information/data, incl. participation in tax audits and relevant projects.

First line of contact for questions related to indirect tax sent via e.g., tickets or raised by AP and AR, or from Tax Authorities related to indirect tax reporting, escalate to indirect tax reporting manager and indirect tax business partner if required.

Carry out relevant tax trainings for e.g., AP and AR, in cooperation with the indirect tax reporting manager and indirect tax business partner. Carry out relevant KICs and secure relevant processes/instructions/guidelines/etc. are followed and give input in case of identified need for improvement.

Involved in projects related to implementation of solutions to fulfill indirect tax requirements in SAP and other relevant tools, as well as other projects where input and knowledge from the indirect tax reporting team is needed.

University degree in tax/economics/business or equivalent with relevant practice

Minimum 3-years of relevant working experience within indirect tax and knowledge in indirect tax reporting, especially in the DACH region

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team

Strong analytical skills, structured way of working, flexibility and openness to change

Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office and experience with financial reporting systems

Strong English language skills (German language skills will be a plus) and ability to travel when circumstances allow
