We are looking for a Strategic Category Lead Buyer - Electronic Component Engineer, a new role within Strategic Global Sourcing Team at Atlas Copco Industrial Technique AB. Taking on this role you will be part of strengthening the sourcing function to managing and adapting the fluctuation of electronic component industry to secure the final products availability and ensure future customer demand. 

This position will give you a great insight in the strategic global sourcing department, and provide you with an international setting, an extensive cross functional network, leading edge technologies and great outlooks for your future growth with us. 

The role 

As lead for sourcing electronic components, you will participate in selecting components for new designs; negotiate competitive prices and proactively prevent risks throughout the product life cycle. You will join a team of experienced colleagues within strategic global sourcing organization, contribute to operational excellence; design for customer, profitability, and support growth targets of Atlas Copco Industrial Technique AB. You will report to Strategic Sourcing Department Manager - Electronics.

Your responsibilities will include: 

Supporting Research & Development (R&D) with new projects, providing valuable guidelines for future project electronic component availability & EOL forecast from both technical and sourcing perspectives. 

Managing obsolescence: Continuously monitoring component life cycle status and risk analysis, coordinating internal activities related to component EOL strategies to pro-actively take improvement actions within our supply base, projects, and processes. 

Following up on key activities related to “Last Time Buy” decisions. 

Negotiating competitive prices, lead-time, delivery terms, and availability. 

Compiling business proposals and participating in the supplier selection process. 

Ensuring our electronic component suppliers align with our commitment to the highest ethical standards. 

Conducting market research and staying aware of trends and new technology within the electronic component market. 

Developing processes and best practices, especially on how to work with electronic components within sourcing and cross-functional against R&D, logistics, and our contract manufacturers. 

What we expect from you 

In this role, we value your expertise with electronic components and your experience and background will be key to optimize the role’s function, processes, and advantages. We see that you have: 

At least 5 years’ experience from electronics component industry, or similar technical industry. 

Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field, or equivalent professional experience. 

Experience and understanding of electronic design, production and/or distribution/sales of electronic components. 

Good knowledge and network in electronic industry supply chain 

Proven experience of sourcing, negotiation, supplier contracting and supplier relations management 

English on business level, both written and spoken. 

If you in addition have experience from SAP or proficiency in any additional language it considered a plus.
