Job Description

The Retail BI & Analytics team is a team gathering data competencies within the newly formed Retail unit including Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Product Data Analysts and Business Intelligence Analysts. The Product Data Analyst works closely together with the product teams, structured as Value Streams, within the Retail Tech department. The role includes supporting the Value Stream in setting KPIs and creating business cases for the products in that product area, as well as conducting data analysis, A/B testing and creating the BI reports needed to evaluate the product performance and guide the Value Stream’s work forward.

As a Product Data Analyst working towards the Decide & Go Value Stream, you will be a key enabler to explore and support data driven product development for the checkout products in store: physical and self-checkout, as well as mobile checkout solutions. You will build BI dashboards and reports to monitor KPIs, perform A/B tests, provide analysis and insights to support your colleagues with data and insight-driven decision making on strategic directions.

In the role you will:

  • Be a crucial person for your colleagues to understand how our product development impacts the business
  • Proactively support product development with analytical insights and recommendations which helps to drive innovations and achieve strategic advantage
  • Perform analysis on large sets of data to extract impactful insights that will inform and guide development efforts within the Value Stream as well as supporting in creating and following up on business cases related to the products within he Value Stream
  • Support the product teams within the Value Stream with setting KPIs and following up on performance through reporting and  A/B testing
  • Translate business requirements into analytical requirements and design analytics and reporting solutions together with global business stakeholders as well as regions to maximize their impact
  • Interact and influence the analytical community within H&M to explore and enable new data areas to realize even more business potential

Additionally, we see that: 

  • You have an academic degree in a quantitative field, such as engineering, business, economics, finance or math/statistics
  • You have developed strong analytical skills through relevant work experience with at least three years of experience working as Data Analyst, Product Data Analyst, Data Scientist or similar roles
  • You are experienced in using programming languages like R or Python for data analysis
  • You have deep knowledge in how to use tools such as Power BI and SQL and are confident in working with large data sets and extracting data by writing complex queries.
  • You have experience in A/B testing
  • You are a clear communicator who can easily translate complex analytical methods to business stakeholders and are comfortable in presenting results of your analyses to different stakeholders
  • You are a team player and enjoy sharing your knowledge with colleagues
