Group Operational Risk in Nordea is looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Risk Expert for the Process Risk team, focusing on Internal and External Fraud. As the Senior Risk Expert, you will play a key role in monitoring and overseeing Nordea's business units on how operational risks are governed, managed and controlled.

About this opportunity
Welcome to Group Operational Risk. You’ll join the Process Risk team, a team of highly qualified individuals working across complex areas within the second line of defence (2LoD). We add value by overseeing and monitoring how Nordea’s first line of defence (1LoD) identifies and manages operational risks, in all areas of the business, globally. As the Senior Risk Expert, you’ll play a valuable role by providing expertise in and oversight of the Internal and External Fraud risks to which Nordea is exposed.
Group Operational Risk (GOR) is an independent risk oversight and control function within Group Risk. GOR is responsible for the Operational Risk frameworks and to monitor and control the 1st LoD management of operational risks of Nordea. This means we control the identification, assessment, mitigation, and reporting of operational risks.
What you’ll be doing:
Executing advice, monitoring and testing activities in the Internal & External Fraud areas based on risk analyses performed Monitoring current and upcoming fraud related regulations on EU and country level Participating in 1LoD Fraud Management activities, while maintaining independent monitoring and providing sound advice Updating and implementing 2LoD policy relevant to Internal & External Fraud Assessing the design and effectiveness of implemented controls Monitoring and following up on 1LoD mitigating actions for risks identified, and providing additional recommendations based on independent risk analysis Providing a holistic view of the risk picture within this important risk Risk Area to senior management, the Board and our regulators based on results from ongoing risk analysis, monitoring and control activities The role is based in Helsinki; Gdańsk; Oslo; Stockholm; Warszawa.

In order to succeed in this role, you have:
Subject matter expertise in fraud management and financial crime in general Knowledge of payment industry and relevant regulations is a plus Strong knowledge and understanding of the core tasks within Risk and Compliance Experience working with Risk and Compliance management frameworks and insight into working regulation Solid interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, being able to navigate and collaborate across the value chain and across Nordea A strategic mindset and proven experience in solving and presenting complex problems The ability to move the ball forward, with a business-minded and result-oriented approachIf this sounds like you, get in touch
