Job Description

As Communication Leader you will:

  • Lead and develop holistic communication to strengthen the IKEA Brand and enable better business. 
  • Act as a strategic partner and tactical support to sustainability team to define and enable their communication needs and goals.  
  • Contribute as active member to the Supply Sustainability Management Team and Inter IKEA strategic Assignments (IISSA) Management Team.
  • Contribute to both the creation and implementation of business strategies, priorities, and processes through communication. 
  • Create clear and actionable communication plans and when needed to enable efficient and effective creation, production, and follow-up. 
  • Actively contribute to the overall strategic communication direction and plan. Contribute and deliver to cross-functional assignments prioritized in the common communication plan. 
  • Drive internal and external communication projects, taking different stakeholder perspectives into account. 
  • In close collaboration with stakeholders, contribute to the process of brand risk assessment, lead the process of proactive and reactive communication planning to mitigate risks, and build long-term trust for the IKEA Brand. 
  • Develop the communication competence in the unit/area/function and enable others to lead with communication and represent the IKEA Brand according to the IKEA values and tone of voice. 

Qualifications

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced communication professional who is eager to shape, develop and lead impactful strategic messaging supporting the IKEA sustainability agenda, the Supply Sustainability Manager and the sustainability matrices.

About you: 

  • Role model of the IKEA values, contributes to an open culture where co-workers feel informed, included, engaged, and empowered.
  • Experienced communicator with at least 5 years working experience in strategic communication field, or in sustainability roles.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of working with business and communication planning and execution, and an understanding of how communication supports and increases the impact of a business agenda.
  • Relevant experience in leading projects and supporting/leading changes.
  • Dare to think differently, and you have an agile approach and adapt as you go.
  • Pragmatic and solution oriented, always with high quality in your deliveries.
  • Interested in finding new ways of working and are highly motivated to do this by leading our business agenda through people and collaborate and interact with many different stakeholders, creating new relations and networks.
  • Strong in building trust and relationships across a diverse group of people.
