We're looking for a Research Engineer within the field of organic chemistry/surface chemistry modification to join our Surface Design team, part of Cytiva's Resin and Technologies R&D organization in Uppsala. In this role, you will work in a cross-functional setting to contribute to the development of disruptive products which are used in the manufacturing of leading biological drugs. As Research Engineer, your work will span all the way from idea generation to research and development.

What you'll do:

  • Perform experimental work within the area of surface /organic chemistry.

  • Solve problems of "trouble shooting character" in project work.

  • Run the primary characterization of your prototypes.

  • Independently plan and accomplish given tasks from Project or Section Leader, to reach given project objectives.

  • Document and report results both orally and in a written form.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • MSc in Organic/Surface or Polymer Chemistry. Alternatively, you have equivalent work life experience in related fields.

  • A few years of experience working in an industrial development or R&D environment.

  • Fluency in English and Swedish, both verbally and in a written format.

It would be a plus if you also have:

  • Practical experience working with the conjugation proteins to polymers or polysaccharides.

  • Good understanding of EHS requirements.
