Key duties and responsibilities

Reinsurance is an advanced and challenging business. You need to understand both direct market products and functions and how a reinsurance solution affects both the cedent's and reinsurer's income statement and balance sheet as well as risk exposure. In this position, there are good opportunities for an exciting development for the right candidate.

The service includes functional responsibility for data-driven analytics and actuarial support as a service offering to our reinsurance customers. Through even more active and creative analysis of the data we receive from our cedents, we can contribute to their understanding of their own business while improving our ability to accurately price. Customer data can also be enriched from public data sources to provide additional perspectives. You are expected to develop methods for handling data and calculation models as well as performance monitoring, analysis and reporting to customers. This work is done in close contact with SCOR's dedicated data analytics group based in Cologne.

From Stockholm, we cover SCOR's Nordic life reinsurance and the position is part of our Pricing Team consisting of four people. Together we manage and develop existing reinsurance collaborations and participate in tendering and signing new reinsurance transactions. It is important that you are business-oriented as you will have extensive customer contacts and participate in the work with pricing and of all new business in the Nordic region. You also need to be interested in and follow issues regarding changes in regulations, accounting and general development of the insurance market as such.

Through close cooperation with the marketing department, you have a lot of contact with our customers in the Nordic region and, in addition to Cologne, there may also be some travel for internal work, mainly to our other SCOR offices in, for example, London or Paris.

Qualifications

Education/Background

We are looking for candidates with a relevant academic degree and at least five years of experience in actuarial work in Life Insurance and/or consultancy towards Life Insurance. It is important that you have experience in datadriven analysis, pricing and that you have a genuine business interest.

You should have programming experience of e.g. R, VBA or similar programming language. Since you work with analysis of large amounts of data in the position, we expect you to have a great interest in it.

A prerequisite is that you have good knowledge of Microsoft Office and are comfortable communicating in a Nordic language and English in both speech and writing.

Personal qualities

You are able to make decisions, make quick, clear decisions that may involve difficult choices or calculated risks. It is important that you can take responsibility for initiatives and measures in the projects you participate in, and that you through initiative and own drive take responsibility for creating activity.

You have good analytical skills. Make rational judgments based on available information and analysis. Creates workable solutions to many different types of problems.

You focus on customer needs and satisfaction, set high standards for quality and quantity, work in a systematic, methodical, and reliable way and achieve consistent project goals.

You accept and approach difficult goals with enthusiasm, seek development into roles with greater responsibility and influence, and quickly learn new tasks and easily memorize new information. You have an interest in the insurance industry and keepup to date with competitors and market trends, show financial awareness and think in terms of profit, loss and added value.
