At DFDS in Karlshamn, we specialize in land-based transportation solutions between Sweden and destinations in Eastern Europe with Baltic States and CIS countries as the main markets. Our services include mega and standard curtain-sided trailers as well as domestic road-trains and forwarding activities. We are committed to delivering efficient and reliable logistics tailored to meet our customer's needs.

We are now looking for a General Manager for our Business in Karlshamn who will contribute to the company's ongoing journey.

About the role

In this role you will be a key player to strengthen and grow our organization in Karlshamn. The role involves full responsibility for financial and operational targets along with an overall site responsibility. As part of the Swedish management team, you report directly to the MD of DFDS AB and you collaborate closely with your colleagues in the Swedish management team. You will have the autonomy to innovate, streamline processes, and champion a culture of success and growth.

Key Responsibilities

You will among others have the following key responsibilities:

  • Develop the business both commercially and in terms of internal processes

  • Streamline and optimize operations

  • Set up, implement and follow up on targets for the business.

  • Budget, forecast, and follow-up work in consultation with the MD

  • Ensure that costs and revenues are in line with the budgeted targets and notify deviations

  • Support and coach employees

  • Foster and champion, a collaborative ONE DFDS approach

About you

We believe you have experience from a similar position or other solid experience within the logistics industry.

Furthermore, we believe you have:

  • Fluency in Swedish and English (read/write)

  • Degree in supply chain/engineering/economics or equivalent experience

  • Considerable logistics experience, preferably from larger corporations/organisations.

  • Managerial experience, preferably from the logistics industry

  • Experience from working in a matrix organisation is a plus

  • Driver's license
