The Head of Business controlling has the responsibility for all business performance analysis and consolidated reporting in the region and is the manager for all the region's Country Business Controller(s). The role works in close collaboration with the Regional VP to ensure strategic goals for the region are being met. The key focus areas are to proactively monitor the region's overall profitability and propose actions to ensure delivery of financial targets. Additionally, key responsibilities include gross to net price and gross margin analysis to improve business performance as well as analytical support for the region's leadership team to manage key customer negotiations. Head of Business Controlling is also responsible to oversee the monthly closing activities and ensure correct and timely reporting in a partnership with Country Business Controller(s) and the Financial Service Center. As a leader of the regional controlling team, the role is expected to actively share information, ensure harmonized ways of working and provide support for the countries in the region as seen necessary.

Key responsibilities:

  • Monthly performance reporting and analysis for GF BFS-Europe North-West Region
  • Lead and develop the North-West Business Controlling team
  • Manage monthly closing process for the region together with Country Business Controller(s) and Financial Service Center team
  • Closely monitor and analyze region contribution and cost development and proactively propose actions to meet the financial targets
  • Actively monitor and analyze sales, net price and gross margin development based on 4C (Country, Customer, Category, Channel) model
  • Own the financial forecasting process within the region
  • Develop reporting and analytics to drive transparency on gross-to-net calculations and performance
  • Support preparations for the annual negotiations with the key accounts
  • Conduct market and pricing research & analysis to identify opportunities to maximize sales and profitability in close collaboration with the global pricing team
  • Lead various projects aiming for business performance and process improvements
  • Ensure internal controls, documentation and financial management within the region
  • Proactively make recommendations and launch initiatives to improve Finance & Controlling processes
  • Actively collaborate in GF Finance & Controlling community to share information and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in related field (accounting, finance or economics)
  • 5 to 8 years of Finance & Controlling experience, preferably from customer-facing business operations
  • Previous demonstrated people leadership experience
  • Experience as a finance business partner with good business acumen
  • Exemplary strategic planning abilities and critical thinking skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills, including the preparation and delivery of effective presentations to customers and internal stakeholders
  • Strong decision-making, organizational and problem-solving skills are essential as well as the ability to work effectively in a deadline driven environment
