Your role and responsibilities:


The SCM Sustainability Specialist - Environmental plays a crucial role in advancing ABB Robotics' commitment to sustainability through responsible sourcing practices. In this role, you will drive global sustainability initiatives within procurement, focusing on responsible sourcing, supplier performance, regulatory compliance, and environmental impact reduction. Your work will support cross-functional alignment and capability building across the global SCM organization.


You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Lead and support the global procurement organization on sustainability, contributing to sourcing decisions, supplier engagement, and category strategies.

  • Coordinate and drive environmental sustainability initiatives in Supply Chain Management (SCM), focusing on emission reduction, circularity, and compliance with regulations (e.g., CBAM, EUDR).

  • Monitor and improve supplier sustainability performance, track environmental impact of materials, and collaborate with suppliers to meet sustainability targets.

  • Develop and deliver training, upskilling programs, and a global SCM Sustainability knowledge hub to promote responsible sourcing and share best practices.

  • Represent SCM in internal and external sustainability forums, supporting policy development, material-specific roadmaps, and alignment with emerging sustainability trends.



Qualifications for the role:

  • Master's degree in environmental science, supply chain management, industrial ecology, environmental engineering, or a related field, with over 5 years' experience in sustainability and/or supplier management in a global environment.

  • Strong expertise in sustainability concepts and tools, including life cycle assessment (LCA), carbon foot printing, and circular economy principles.

  • Solid understanding of Supply Chain Management (SCM), supplier management, and international environmental sustainability legislation.

  • Proven project management skills and experience driving change and implementation in decentralized organizations.

  • Ability to interpret and apply legal, technical, and regulatory information related to sustainability.

  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English (other languages a plus), with strong networking and relationship-building capabilities.

  • Proficient in digital tools (Office 365, Power BI, etc.), self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks independently or collaboratively.

  • Preferred: experience with EcoVadis, carbon data collection tools, carbon accounting, and SBTi frameworks.
