Description
We are looking for an experienced public policy professional who is passionate about the intersection between technology and policy, with strong project management skills, can navigate highly ambiguous environments with strong business judgement, work thoughtfully across global teams and time zones, and demonstrate an enthusiasm and curiosity to learn and grow.

Key job responsibilities

As the Public Policy Manager, Nordics, you will support partnerships with legislators and officials in support of our consumer-centric business model at the highest levels of government and policy-making. You will develop an astute understanding of the public policy and regulatory environment as well as key stakeholders within it. You will coordinate across Amazon's business, locally and globally, to support the development and implementation of positioning and engagement strategies.

You will support and lead advocacy efforts, outreach programmes, partnerships, and initiatives in support of these business objectives. You will support Amazon's engagement with relevant industry associations and wider coalitions, and work with consultancies. You will be able to manage and drive complex projects, and provide clear guidance, including in situations of high ambiguity. You will be a self-starter who can work independently, but are also able to operate respectfully and collaboratively within wider regional and international structures. The individual should be highly organized and able to communicate, adapt, and/or respond effectively and efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude and sense of humour, even under pressure, in a fast-paced, goal-focused work environment.

About The Team
The Nordic Public Policy team works with a wide range of local, national, and supra-national policymakers, industry and non-governmental organisations, across policy issues in retail, consumer affairs, data and digital technology, economic development, trade, sustainability, customer trust, transport and logistics. We work very closely with colleagues in the Nordics, EU and globally.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BSc or equivalent practical experience
  • Relevant public policy experience and a keen working understanding of policy-making processes and government relations, e.g. within corporate public policy and government relations, in public administration including EU institutions, trade associations or non-governmental organizations.
  • Written and and spoken fluency in English and Swedish

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong skills in using spoken and written rhetoric to persuade and inform
  • Strong program management and organizational skills
  • Outstanding oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Exceptional writing skills, from speeches to policy narratives to executive briefs
  • An advanced degree in area of study relevant to the role
  • A track record of highest integrity and public policy success
  • Ability to deliver messages intelligently, concisely, and in a way that facilitates earned trust
  • Ability to think critically, process data from multiple sources, forecast scenarios, prioritize based on probability and desired outcome, and recommend a best course of action
  • Agility and confidence in evolving situations and ability to swiftly transition from topic to topic
  • Exceptional time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage competing demands on your time;
  • A self-starter who can take general direction and produce specific results
  • Ability to coordinate a wide array of internal and external resources to obtain, process, and operationalise information and strategy
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills
  • Experience working at high level and collaboratively in a highly-matrixed environment, alongside teams including Legal, PR, and business teams
  • Project management experience
