Senior C++ / Embedded Developer – Gothenburg

Permanent Position | Start: ASAP | On-site, 5 days per week

A fast-growing international technology company is looking to strengthen its Gothenburg development team with an experienced
Senior C++ / Embedded Developer
. You will join a global organisation pioneering cutting-edge solutions used in advanced measurement technology, automation, and real-time data processing.

The Role

As a Senior C++ Developer, you will be a key contributor in designing and developing high-performance systems that combine real-time image processing, hardware-near programming, and data management. You will work closely with a cross-functional global team of engineers and researchers to build next-generation solutions driving innovation in complex industrial environments.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining software in modern C++ (C++17/20).
  • Implementing hardware-near logic for cameras, sensors, and motion control.
  • Optimising real-time code and data flows.
  • Integrating third-party libraries and hardware drivers (TCP/IP, EtherCAT, serial communication).
  • Contributing to system design and architecture for scalable solutions.
  • Writing unit tests and participating in code reviews.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of C++ (C++14 or later).
  • Experience with hardware-close programming and real-time systems.
  • Proficiency in Linux and/or Windows development environments.
  • Solid understanding of version control (Git).

Nice to have:

  • Experience with multithreading, parallelisation, and performance optimisation.
  • Knowledge of image/signal processing or sensor systems.
  • Familiarity with PLC integration, EtherCAT, Modbus, or other fieldbuses.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
  • Python knowledge for prototyping/data analysis.
