About the role The mission is to contribute as Software Developer to develop the next generation of Volvo's telematics product and services (on-board). The main product is an information system in the embedded environment that communicates with the rest of the vehicle systems, and with a back-office system. Product features are Fleet Management, Uptime services, and other connected services.
We are in the beginning of an exciting new technology transformation with focus on new development and are therefore now looking for an Embedded Software Developer with excellent technical expertise who wants to join our collaborative and passionate team. Additional responsibilities are:
• Drive investigations on new technology
• Carry out requirement- and subsystem verification tasks together with the team
• Share knowledge with colleagues and contribute to our communities of practice
We are looking for... A Software Developer with excellent technical expertise relevant for the position. Agile product development is where the candidate thrives. With customer-focused approach, the candidate is passionate about creating the best customer solutions and experiences.
Requirements:
• Master's degree in Information Technology or Computer Engineering or equivalent education/experience.
• 10+ years experiences in modern C++ development
• 7+ years experiences of product development within Telematics (or related knowledge area)
• Python
• Yocto/Open embedded
• 5+ years in software architecture
• Embedded Linux, basic configuration, applying patches and debugging
• Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
Additionally, we highly value the experience of communication protocols (such as MQTT), Concept development, REST API, the Android operating system, Adaptive Autosar and have worked within the automotive or telecommunications industry. It's also meritorious if you have experience in SOME/IP, CAN/CAnalyzer, security practices, SIL/HIL testing, and working with agile principles.
