Area Director

We're looking for an Area Director to lead our GameWorld area, covering the cross-disciplinary work on missions, worlds and levels across multiple feature teams. You'll work closely with an Area Producer and the Team Owners in your Area, providing high-level vision, direction, and goals while making sure the teams can deliver their best work.

This is a role for someone with strong experience as a Senior or Expert in Game Design, Level/Mission Design, or Environment Art. Experience in systemic or open world design, generative level/world creation, or narrative design is a big plus.

What you'll do:

• Uphold the vision for your Area, inspiring the teams and providing clear goals aligned with the overall game direction.
• Guide the creative direction across your Area for both live updates and mid-term arcs, ensuring work is fun, engaging, and aligned with the studio's vision.
• Approve deliverables across your Area, making sure they meet quality, style, and player experience standards.
• Represent your Area to the Product Team and stakeholders, advocating for the developers' work and initiatives.
• Collaborate with Team Owners and Area Producers to map capacity, manage dependencies, and ensure teams are structured to take responsibility for their work.
• Contribute to the Product Team, helping define the broader roadmap, supporting long-term planning, and participating in studio-level rituals and decisions.
• Foster a high-performing culture in your Area, supporting growth, mentoring talent, and building trust and collaboration.

What we're looking for: 

• Extensive experience in your discipline with a strong track record of shipped titles and high-quality work.
• Experience leading or mentoring teams, with the ability to provide direction without needing to be the expert in every part of the work.
• Strong communication skills, able to align teams, stakeholders, and the broader studio around a shared vision.Strategic and structured thinking, balancing creative insight with practical delivery focus.
• Passion for collaborative game development and building high-performing, motivated teams.

Bonus

• Experience in multiplayer or live service games.
• Experience with generative design or systemic/open world games.
• Familiarity with cross-discipline collaboration in large projects.

Scope: Full-time: 40 hours per week with initial 6 month probation period.
Location: Office first, hybrid solution possible. You need to be eligble to work in Sweden.
