About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer | AI Engineer | AI Agent Developer to join a forward-thinking IT studio focused on transforming the digital workplace experience. In this role, you will be instrumental in advancing the AI Momentum strategy within the Identity and Access Management (IAM) space. You will integrate cutting-edge AI tools to enhance security, streamline identity and access management, and improve overall productivity. This position offers a collaborative environment where you will work with engineers, product designers, and product owners to build innovative solutions, adopt AI Agents as integral components of IAM systems, and help IT teams develop AI fluency. You will take operational ownership of the components you develop, ensuring they are secure, efficient, and scalable. This role is remote-first, giving you the flexibility to work from the UK, Sweden, or from where you are most productive while collaborating with a globally distributed squad.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with engineers, product designers, and product owners to evolve the IAM landscape toward an AI-first approach, prioritizing security.
• Integrate AI tools into IAM systems to improve security, authorization, and workflow efficiency.
• Develop MCP Gateway integrations with SSO platforms and contribute to employee identity and access management projects.
• Support adoption of AI Agents as first-class components within the IAM environment.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with AI-enabled third-party tools integrated into collaborative platforms.
• Take operational ownership of your components, ensuring reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Upskill IT teams in AI fluency through knowledge-sharing sessions, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.

Requirements:

• Strong experience in designing, building, testing, debugging, and optimizing agentic systems, MCP servers, and AI-enabled tools.
• Proven expertise in identity authentication and authorization integrations using protocols such as SAML, OIDC, and OAuth 2.0.
• Proficiency in Java and Go programming languages.
• Experience with operational responsibilities for backend systems, including monitoring, debugging, and maintenance.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment that encourages learning, experimentation, and iteration.
• Excellent communication skills in English (full professional proficiency).
