About Wellvector

Wellvector is an AI startup transforming how the energy industry works with complex, unstructured engineering data. Our platform reads thousands of pages of technical well reports, extracts key facts, and provides actionable insights to support safer, faster, and more informed operational decisions.

We are currently working with high-value clients in Norway, the UK, and the Middle East, and collaborating closely with domain experts from the petroleum industry alongside some of Scandinavia's leading applied AI engineering talent.

About the Role

We are looking for an AI Engineer who is excited about building real, production-grade software in a fast-moving environment. You will work directly with the petroleum engineers, industry experts and leading AI talent, and your contributions will have a visible impact on our product and how our customers use it. This is a paid internship.

This is not a theoretical internship. You will build, break, and ship real features.

  • You have built things before — passion projects, GitHub repos, hackathon prototypes, tools for fun, anything.
  • You enjoy figuring things out independently, searching, experimenting, debugging, learning.
  • You are excited by high pace, ownership, and ambiguity.
  • You want to work with AI in a way that creates real industrial value.
  • Bonus if you are involved in an AI/Machine Learning or developer society at university

What You'll Do

  • Develop features across the stack (frontend, backend, or both depending on your strengths).
  • Build systems that extract and process complex well-related documents and data.
  • Collaborate with AI engineers on integrating models into real workflows.
  • Work directly with petroleum domain experts to shape product logic.
  • Contribute to rapid product iteration - ship fast, learn fast.
  • Help build internal tools and automation that support scaling.

Requirements

  • Comfortable coding in at least Python or TypeScript.
  • Portfolio of previous work (GitHub, projects, demos, hackathons - anything that shows your thinking).
  • Problem-solving mindset - you enjoy tackling unclear or challenging tasks.
  • Strong communication skills (English required, Norwegian/Swedish is a plus).

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with Web development tools: React, , Postgres, NextJS, AI SDK.
  • Experience with LLM and compute tools: prompt techniques, RAG, OCR, Langfuse, Modal, Hugging Face.
  • Knowledge of energy industry is not required - curiosity is enough.
