As a Vehicle Dynamics Simulation Engineer at Tesla, you will be at the forefront of developing the tools that define the performance of our next-generation vehicles. This role is a unique opportunity to merge your passion for vehicle dynamics, software development, and simulation to directly impact products that accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy.

You will be a key contributor to our advanced simulation toolchain, working from first principles to model complex vehicle behaviors. Your expertise will be crucial in creating our next generation of high fidelity simulation models. This position requires a meticulous, data-driven engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is committed to solving the most challenging problems in vehicle performance.

What You'll Do- Design, validate, and deploy high-fidelity multibody vehicle dynamics models to drive innovation in ride quality, handling, and driver control systems
- Develop scalable, model-based engineering tools (e.g., Python, C/C++) to automate analysis, optimize designs, and accelerate cross-functional workflows
- Lead the creation and maintenance of simulation/modeling standards and best practices, ensuring consistency and efficiency across teams
- Architect CI/CD pipelines (using Git, Docker, Jenkins) for rapid iteration, testing, and deployment of vehicle dynamics models
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (vehicle controls, chassis, firmware and autopilot etc) to integrate models into system-level designs and validate performance in SiL/HiL/DiL environments
- Champion methodology improvements by evaluating emerging tools and numerical techniques to enable faster, data-driven engineering decisions
- Mentor junior engineers and act as a technical authority for model integration, solver optimization, and multi-physics co-simulation standards
What You'll Bring- A Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Deep expertise in vehicle dynamics and multibody modeling, with a track record of translating physics-based simulations into real-world performance gains
- 5+ years of experience in multibody vehicle dynamics modeling and system-level simulation
- 5+ years of Modelica library development for commercial or enterprise-grade applications
- Demonstrated expertise with FMI/SSP standards and tools like Dymola, OpenModelica or similar
- Proficiency in Python, C/C++, and version control systems (Git) for simulation automation
- Experience designing CI/CD pipelines for model deployment and regression testing
- Leadership in agile environments, balancing technical rigor with practical constraints to deliver robust, production-ready solutions
