Peermusic was founded over 90 years ago by renowned visionary Ralph S. Peer and is the largest independent music publisher in the world, with 39 offices in 32 countries. These offices today represent songwriters, composers and copyrights from all over the globe.

Overview

We are seeking a creative leader to drive writer development, creative strategy, and A&R activity across our publishing roster in
Sweden,
and with our offices across the globe. This role sits at the intersection of
taste, relationships, and execution
, with the expectation of driving income growth for peermusic Sweden.

You will be a key creative voice internally and a trusted partner externally—working closely with writers, managers, artists, labels, and internal teams to create meaningful opportunities and commercially impactful music.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Leadership & Strategy

  • Set and execute creative strategy for the publishing roster across priority genres and markets
  • Provide advice on song quality, direction, and market fit
  • Identify trends, emerging writers, and cultural shifts relevant to the catalog

A&R & Writer Development

  • Discover, sign, and develop songwriters and producer talent (level of signing authority aligned with experience)
  • Build and maintain high-level relationships with writers, managers, agents, and artists
  • Guide long-term creative development

Creative Execution

  • Drive meaningful collaborations, writing sessions, and artist/writer connections
  • Oversee pitching strategy and creative positioning of works
  • Partner with sync and licensing teams to maximize creative and commercial outcomes

External Representation

  • Represent the company creatively in the marketplace
  • Serve as a credible, respected creative partner to industry stakeholders
  • Strengthen the company's reputation as a destination for top-tier writers

Team & Internal Collaboration

  • Work cross-functionally with admin and sync to support writers efficiently
  • Contribute to broader company creative and strategic discussions

Ideal Background

  • 10 years of experience in
    A&R in publishing or label activities
  • Proven track record of
    writer development, placements, and successful signings
  • Deep relationships across the music ecosystem in Sweden and the Nordics
  • Strong knowledge and contact base in Asia, especially Korea and Japan
  • Strong creative taste paired with commercial awareness
  • Comfortable operating autonomously
