Behind SSC's satellite operations and space missions lies a highly robust and secure IT and network infrastructure. The Network Services team is a core part of this backbone, enabling secure data downlink, real time satellite operations, data processing and global communications across a distributed ground station network.

SSC is currently in a transformation phase where cloud technologies, automation and cybersecurity are becoming increasingly central to how we design and operate our platforms. The focus is on building scalable, reliable and secure network solutions that can meet growing operational and security demands, while supporting both mission critical customer systems and internal services.

As our CIO describes it, a well designed and secure IT and network infrastructure is not a nice to have, it is a prerequisite for safe and reliable space operations. This journey requires engineers who want to take technical ownership and help shape the platforms that support space missions end to end.

We are now looking for a Senior Network Engineer 

In this role you will be part of our Network Services unit who is responsible for the network and security services for our production systems as well as for our corporate administrative systems. This includes responsibility for wide area and local networks, data centers, firewalls and secure access solutions in a global, mission critical environment. 


Requirements

YOUR ROLE 

As Senior Network Engineer your role is to lead, plan and execute Network Services for the daily and future operations of SSC Global Network including security solutions with a high level of automation for customer missions as well as for SSC's internal needs. This is to be performed based on a well-defined, global and maintainable network architecture. 

Your responsibilities include: 

  • Development of the global network and support systems.
  • Act as 3rd line support to SSC organization / NOC.
  • Implement new services to customers or SSC group and handover to SSC operations.
  • Support projects both internal and external with Network expertise.
  • Support sales with solutions to customers.
  • Lead and execute internal Network Services activities or projects.
  • Lead and execute standardization work for Network Services with the view from SSC needs.
  • Participate actively in Automation work.
  • Actively improve and secure the Global Network. 
  • Make sure NS has well documented systems and services.
  • Troubleshooting.
  • Preventive maintenance. 
  • Education of 1st and 2nd line of support.
