Job Mission:
Lead the architecture and design of embedded firmware for advanced automation systems, ensuring robust integration, scalability, and innovation in Piab's products.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Firmware Architecture & Design:
- Architect and design embedded firmware for complex systems.
- Develop scalable, modular firmware with clear abstraction layers.
- Ensure robust integration between firmware and hardware components.
- Requirements Management:
- Translate system-level requirements into detailed firmware specifications.
- Manage requirements traceability and documentation (preferably using JAMA).
- Oversee system integration, verification, and validation.
- Project Coordination:
- Maintain and control progress of multiple firmware modules across several projects and products.
- Plan, track, and report development progress using JIRA.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery.
- Electronic Design Collaboration:
- Review and understand electronic schematics and PCB designs.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure firmware compatibility.
- Development Tools & Quality:
- Proficient in embedded C/C++, RTOS, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Use debugging tools (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.).

- Analytical and systematic approach to problem-solving, with strong analytical skills.
- Ability to see the "big picture" while managing detailed technical tasks.
- Proactive in driving progress and resolving obstacles.
- Experience mentoring or leading small engineering teams.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with hardware, software, test, and product teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Capable of explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience in embedded firmware architecture and design for complex systems.
- Strong background in embedded C/C++, RTOS, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Experience with debugging tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
- Ability to translate system-level requirements into detailed firmware specifications.
- Experience managing requirements traceability and documentation (preferably using JAMA).
- Experience overseeing system integration, verification, and validation.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, track, and report development progress using tools such as JIRA.
- Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams for timely project delivery.
- Ability to review and understand electronic schematics and PCB designs.
- Experience collaborating with hardware engineers to ensure firmware compatibility.
- Experience mentoring or leading small engineering teams is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
