About the Job:

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Lead Data Architect to oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud-based data solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding and practical experience with cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure. A solid background in data warehouse and data lake architecture, modelling, integration, and governance is essential. In this role, you will lead the development of scalable, future-proof data solutions that align with our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Participate:
    Actively engage in and lead the architecture and design of the cloud-based data and analytics solutions
  • Data Modelling:
    Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models, ensuring they meet business requirements, adhere to best practices, and align with industry standards and data governance policies
  • Data Integration:
    Define data integration strategies and oversee the integration of data from various cloud and on-premises sources, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and quality
  • Best Practices and Standards:
    Establish and enforce data architecture best practices, standards, and guidelines to ensure data integrity and security
  • Roadmap Development:
    Develop comprehensive data architecture roadmaps and identify opportunities for data optimization and enhancement
  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with IT, business stakeholders, and other teams to understand data needs and deliver analytics solutions
  • Technology Trends:
    Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in data management, analytics, and cloud computing. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools that can enhance the organization's data capabilities

Job Summary / Key Skills

  • Have many years of solid hands-on experience as a data engineer and data architect
  • Proven track record in data architecture, design, and implementation of a common analytics platform
  • Proficiency with big data technologies such as Databricks and cloud storage solutions
  • Expertise in cloud platforms (preferably Azure), data modelling, data transformation processes, and data integration techniques
  • Strong knowledge of dbt for data transformation and modelling
  • Extensive experience with data warehouse and data lake architecture
  • In-depth experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform and services, including Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, Data Factory, and Power BI
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality management, and data security
  • Experience with Data & Analytics solutions in an international context involving a diverse business application landscape, preferably within manufacturing
  • Possess strong communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders and manage expectations
  • Be interested in training and mentoring colleagues to develop effective and efficient data solutions
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field
