As an Industrial Designer at Above, you will get the opportunity to work with multi-disciplinary project teams on a diverse range of cutting-edge design and innovation projects for some of the world's most exciting clients.

You will be an integral part and core presence on our design team, and have the opportunity to partake in all stages of the design and product development process - from research to concept definition, from hands-on prototyping to crafting compelling visualisations and design strategies.

With a high-level of conceptual thinking and commitment to quality, you will have direct impact in shaping excellent project deliveries through craft and creativity. You will get the chance to drive smaller engagements independently, and often work in medium-large projects as part of cross-functional teams, acting as an ambassador of the industrial design discipline while closely collaborating with senior colleagues.

Our work is exciting and diverse in nature, spanning high-volume consumer products, smart home systems, robotics, furniture, future mobility experiences, progressive healthcare solutions and more. We create impact across many levels and horizons — from singular hero products with clear go-to-market trajectories to multi-layered portfolio strategies and future visions.

What we are looking for

We are looking for forward-thinking portfolios that show a progressive approach to industrial design and creativity, and believe you possess many of these qualities to excel in this role:

• Preferably 3+ years of relevant professional experience, and exposure to agency workflows across broad domains
• Ability to proactively navigate multi-faceted design processes, while applying the right tools and fidelity at any given stage
• Excellent taste, refined aesthetic sensibility and visual culture
• A thoughtful, user-centered approach to design, with an ability to think in experiences, portfolios and systems
• Strong proficiency in CAD (Solidworks or Rhino preferred), including high-quality surfacing skills
• Impactful visualisation and storytelling competence, utilising Keyshot, Generative AI, and other render/animation software packages
• Relentless care for quality, execution, and details
• Understanding of materiality and design for manufacturing
• Problem-solving capabilities; fluency with physical prototyping
• A humble and collaborative team player that feels at home in multi-competence project constellations
• A self-propelled, optimistic outlook, with an interest in shaping team culture and discipline development at large
• Ability to clearly communicate ideas, point of view and thought-processes to peers and clients alike
