Level Designer

Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for a Level Designer to join the development of a new IP.   
 
Feed your creativity while collaborating with our team of highly-skilled developers to build something innovative, exhilarating, and expansively entertaining 
 
As a member of the Level Design department, you'll be crafting immersive, engaging, and visually compelling gameplay environments. You will be responsible for designing large-scale, open world levels for both single-player and cooperative game modes, ensuring they are fun, realistic, and aligned with the creative vision of the project. 

As a member of the project, you'll help take the studio and our game from great to even better—with a focus on inclusivity, mutual respect (for ourselves and our players), thoughtfulness, empathy, professionalism, and collaboration.  
 

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:    

• Collaborate with design leadership, artists, and fellow level designers to deliver high-quality environments.
• Build and iterate on level geometry using industry-standard tools.
• Ensure levels support gameplay mechanics, narrative goals, and pacing.
• Provide constructive feedback to peers and contribute to team-wide design discussions.
• Manage your own tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Communicate progress and challenges across disciplines.

• 1 to 2 years in a junior Level Design position

• Experience using game engines to make game levels
• Experience working with teams for either professional or personal projects

• Bachelor's degree
• Critical thinking skills
• Communication skills
• Understanding the fundamentals of Level Design
• Game engine software (unreal, or Unity)
• Gameplay scripting experience
• 3D content creation packages. (3ds Max, Maya, or Blender)
• Photoshop

• The ability to collaborate and thrive as part of a creative team
• Creativity in problem solving and a positive, respectful team-first attitude
• Organization methods and the capability to meet deadlines
• Comfort with self-critique and accepting outside feedback
• A habit of regularly playing and understanding modern video games

• Enjoyment of playing a variety of video game genres and titles
• An interest in RPGs
