About The Role

As Head of Engineering for the Sellers Domain at Hemnet, you will lead tech in one of Hemnet's core product domains, focused on empowering home sellers to have the best possible experience when listing and selling their homes. You will play a key role in shaping the technical vision and fostering a high-performing engineering culture that drives both innovation and reliability.

You will also be part of the Tech Leadership Team, collaborating closely with Product and Design leaders to ensure we deliver exceptional user value and business impact across the seller journey.

As Head of Engineering for the Sellers Domain, you'll shape and drive the technical strategy that brings Hemnet's vision to life — turning bold ideas into reliable, scalable solutions that truly make an impact.

You'll lead, mentor, and grow a talented group of engineering managers and engineers across several cross-functional teams. Together, you'll build the technology that helps thousands of people sell their homes with confidence.

Collaboration will be at the heart of your work. You'll partner closely with our Product Domain Lead to ensure a strong product-engineering dynamic — one that balances innovation and delivery, vision and execution.

You'll also keep a close eye on the technical foundation: designing systems that are scalable, maintainable, and built for speed and reliability. You'll encourage experimentation, learning, and data-driven decision-making — because great products are born from curiosity and iteration.

As a leader, you'll nurture a culture where people feel included, supported, and inspired to do their best work. You'll champion psychological safety, open dialogue, and teamwork that goes beyond titles and silos.

And yes, you'll own the operational side too: delivery, performance, quality, and clear communication with stakeholders across Hemnet. You'll make sure things run smoothly - even when they don't..

Who You Are

You're an experienced engineering leader who's seen (and built) a few things - from complex systems to high-performing teams that actually enjoy working together. You know what it takes to scale both people and platforms without losing sight of quality or joy along the way.

Your foundation is technical, but your real superpower lies in leadership; coaching, communication, and creating clarity when things get messy. You're the kind of person who can translate a business goal into a tech strategy
and
make everyone feel part of the journey.

You thrive in cross-functional settings, where ideas bounce, perspectives meet, and collaboration fuels progress. What drives you it's creating real impact for users and the business.

Pragmatic, curious, and passionate about delivering high-quality digital experiences, you believe that great engineering is equal parts craft, care, and curiosity. And yes — you probably enjoy a good refactor almost as much as a good fika (which we have plenty of). .

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering, with at least 5 years in engineering management
• Proven experience of leading leaders
• Proven experience in leading multiple teams or an engineering organization within a product company.
• Solid understanding of modern technologies, system architecture, and agile product development.
• Experience building consumer-facing products or marketplaces is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills in English (Swedish is a plus).

Hi My name is Hanna Lindqvist, and I joined Hemnet as CTO in January 2025. Before that, I've held several leadership roles in the tech industry, driven by a passion for using technology to create real impact.

My leadership is built on trust combined with high expectations. I believe people do their best work when they feel empowered and challenged at the same time. I love to question the status quo, explore new ways of working, and encourage others to do the same.
