The purpose of the
IT Manager
at YILPORT Gävle, a multipurpose terminal operating both General Cargo (bulk and break bulk) and Container terminal operations, is to ensure that all technology systems and digital infrastructure effectively support the port's diverse operational and strategic objectives. This includes managing and optimizing IT systems that enable seamless cargo handling, logistics coordination, and data-driven decision-making across all terminal functions. The IT Manager is responsible for maintaining secure, reliable, and efficient technology environments, overseeing system integration, cybersecurity, and project delivery, while leading the IT team to drive innovation, operational excellence, and business continuity within the port's complex, technology-driven operations.

The position is primarily focused on local operations; however, the IT Manager will also provide support to global headquarters initiatives on an as-needed basis. This includes contributing to automation implementation and monitoring projects when required, while ensuring continued alignment with HQ standards, policies, and standardization processes within local port operations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily IT operations, ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of core systems, networks, and applications that support port operations.
  • Manage and maintain port-critical IT systems, including Terminal Operating Systems (TOS), ERP, and port community platforms.
  • Develop and implement robust cybersecurity measures to ensure full compliance with GDPR, NIS2, and other maritime and national regulatory standards.
  • Establish and enforce protocols for control, oversight, and governance of third-party suppliers and contractors, including HQ-related entities, ensuring compliance with NIS2 and local cybersecurity requirements.
  • Lead IT projects focused on automation, IoT, data analytics, and smart port and environmental sustainability initiatives, supporting the port's digital and green transformation goals.
  • Collaborate closely with port management, logistics teams, and external partners to align IT strategies with operational and business objectives.
  • Manage vendor and service provider relationships, ensuring adherence to service-level agreements and continuous performance evaluation through established checks and balances.
  • Develop and implement IT governance frameworks, policies, and disaster recovery/business continuity strategies to strengthen operational resilience.
  • Provide support to global headquarters initiatives on an as-needed basis, particularly in automation implementation and monitoring, while ensuring alignment with corporate IT standards and processes.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the IT team, promoting a high-performance, compliance-oriented, and innovation-driven culture.
  • Monitor emerging technologies and regulatory developments, providing strategic recommendations that advance digitalization, cybersecurity maturity, and environmental sustainability across port operations.
  • Responsible for the creation, execution, and continuous monitoring of budgets covering both OPEX and CAPEX projects, while also ensuring the safety and security of all employees through diligent maintenance of a safe work environment, alongside managing team administration by monitoring attendance and conducting performance evaluations for the entire team.

Qualifications

  • Relevant IT/Data/Technical education
  • 5 years of experience in senior positions in the IT field
  • Valid driver's license for car
  • Fluent in Swedish and English
