Data Engineer – Industrial Automation
Role description

Full-time consulting assignment to enable reliable and secure data flows from production-near systems for analytics, monitoring, and optimization. Focus on real-time and time-series data from PLC/SCADA and IIoT in environments with high requirements on availability and cybersecurity.

Responsibilities
  • Ingest and model data from OPC UA, Profinet, MQTT, and historian systems.
  • Build robust pipelines for time-series data to data lake/warehouse and to dashboards.
  • Establish data quality controls, cataloging, and lineage.
  • Automate operations and monitoring, including alerting and SLAs.
  • Collaborate closely with OT/IT, networking, and security teams.
Requirements
  • 3+ years as a Data Engineer for industrial or IoT use cases.
  • Hands-on with time-series databases such as InfluxDB, TimescaleDB, or OSIsoft PI, and BI tools (e.g., Power BI or Grafana).
  • Strong Python and SQL; experience with Spark or Databricks (or equivalent).
  • Experience with cloud IoT/Edge services (e.g., Azure IoT or AWS IoT).
  • Fundamental understanding of networking and OT security.
Meriting
  • Knowledge of IEC 62443, batch and real-time integrations, and common SCADA ecosystems.
  • CI/CD for data flows and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Bicep).
  • Cost optimization and capacity planning for data platforms.
