Job Description – Senior AI/Machine Learning Developer

As a freelance Senior AI/Machine Learning Developer within our AI division, you will work on exciting AI-focused projects helping our clients to develop top-tier AI systems designed to help them achieve their strategic goals. This role is critical to ensuring that their AI initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards of quality.

What you'll do

Build production AI systems end‑to‑end: scope problems, design experiments, select models, implement services, deploy, and monitor.

Ship LLM features (RAG, agents, structured outputs, tool use) with robust offline/online evaluation, guardrails, and cost/latency SLIs.

Develop classical ML where it's the right tool: ranking, forecasting, recommendations, NLP, and computer vision.

Create reliable data pipelines (batch & streaming), feature stores, and evaluation datasets; ensure data quality and lineage.

Own MLOps: CI/CD for ML, containerization, infra‑as‑code, observability, canarying/A‑B tests, and model/version governance.

Design for the Nordics: multilingual NLP (sv/da/no/fi + English), PII‑aware data handling, and accessibility.

Partner cross‑functionally with Product, Design, Legal/Security, and go‑to‑market to land measurable business outcomes.

What you bring (must‑haves)

A track record of shipping multiple ML systems to production (not just research or prototypes).

Strong Python and software engineering (testing, type hints, code reviews, design docs).

Hands‑on with PyTorch (or TensorFlow/JAX) and modern LLM tooling (Hugging Face, , vLLM, or similar).

Practical experience with RAG (vector DBs like FAISS/pgvector/Milvus), prompt engineering, schema/constraint techniques, and LLM evaluation.

Solid MLOps: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD (GitHub Actions/GitLab), MLflow/W&B, and experiment tracking.

Cloud: One of AWS/GCP/Azure (bonus: SageMaker, Vertex AI, Azure ML) and GPU provisioning/cost control.

Data engineering: SQL, Spark/Databricks or Snowflake; Airflow/Prefect; streaming (Kafka/Kinesis/Pub/Sub).

Privacy & compliance awareness relevant to the region (GDPR; familiarity with the EU AI Act concepts).

Communicate clearly in English; curiosity and humility in a collaborative, low‑ego environment.

Nice to have

Multilingual NLP for Nordic languages, ASR/TTS, or computer vision for industrial/IoT.

Optimization & scaling: quantization, distillation, retrieval tuning, Ray, Triton Inference Server.

Responsible AI: bias detection/mitigation, red‑teaming, safety evaluations, content filtering.

Privacy‑preserving ML (differential privacy, federated learning).

Experience in regulated domains (health, energy, fintech, public sector).

Open‑source contributions, papers, or notable demos.
