About the role
In your role as Lead Hardware Engineer at Terranet you will work on some of the toughest technical challenges in the automotive and mobility domain. You will be working at the lowest level of our system where we are directly battling with the limits of physics. You will be working on the entire spectrum of product development, starting from conceptualization, modeling, and simulation, to prototyping and laboratory testing, as well as product integration that meets automotive requirements. Thriving in this environment requires dedication and passion for finding creative solutions to technical challenges and an aptitude for teamwork.

Role and responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end definition, architecture, and performance of the anti-collision sensor system, ensuring requirements are met across hardware, software, optics, and mechanics.
• Lead the complete hardware development, review schematics/layout, and ensure compliance with safety and EMC/EMI standards.
• You will work across the full product development chain, focusing on hardware, and will derive and define system design requirements with a hardware emphasis.
• Coordinate with software, mechanical, optics and electronics to secure seamless integration and timely delivery.
• You will be building prototypes that cover the complete system, including the mounting of all PCBs and connectors, as well as the connection of all components for the entire system.
  
  

About you

• Experience defining and managing end-to-end requirements for sensor systems (range, resolution, latency, safety).
• Ability to design system-level architecture across HW, SW, optics, and mechanics, with clear interface definitions.
• Proficiency in digital, analog, and power electronics design, as well as modelling, simulation, and testing.
• A thorough understanding of the full journey from prototype to mass production, including industry standards, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams (HW, SW, mechanical) and align stakeholders.
• It's a plus to have experience in Embedded firmware development
• It is a plus if you also have hands-on skills in electronics assembly and mechanical prototyping.
