Your Role And Responsibilities

As a Global R&D Program Manager, you will lead and manage the execution of complex R&D projects in a program within ABB Robotics. Your mission is to drive innovation and deliver products, systems, and services that enable future robotics business opportunities. You will work in a global environment, collaborating across functions and sites to ensure timely, high-quality results while being responsible for financing of the Program.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage global R&D programs consisting of multiple projects.
• Ensure delivery of products, systems, or services according to division KPIs.
• Coordinate multi-location and cross-discipline project teams.
• Partner with product management, business managers, and external stakeholders.
• Drive program execution, control, and risk management.
• Provide feedback on people performance and suggest process improvements.
• Promote system thinking and accelerate development speed within R&D.
• Manage program budgets exceeding $8M and oversee resources for 100+ team members.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Software/Digital Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in R&D development, including at least 5 years in project and/or line management.
• Proven experience in both waterfall and agile development methodologies.
• Strong competencies in project management, change management, and global collaboration.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, time management, and results orientation.
• Ability to manage large-scale global programs and drive organizational efficiency.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
