Key Account Manager

We're supporting our client, a specialised supplier of mechanical components and fastening solutions serving the automotive, telecom, and industrial sectors who are seeking a Key Account Manager to join their team. They are particularly interested in candidates with experience working with Volvo or other automotive OEMs and the role is based in Gothenburg.
Overview:
- This role focuses on managing key automotive accounts, generating new business, and leveraging technical expertise to deliver exceptional value to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow key automotive accounts, acting as the primary point of contact for OEM and Tier-1 customers – Volvo preferred.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the automotive sector to drive revenue growth.
- Lead and coordinate the RFQ process, ensuring accurate technical and commercial proposals are delivered on time.
- Collaborate with internal teams - engineering, operations, quality, and finance, to meet customer requirements and deliver seamless project execution.
- Provide technical support and consultation to customers, leveraging your engineering background to propose optimal solutions.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform sales strategies and product development.
- Prepare and present account performance reports and forecasts to management.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Sales, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in Key Account Management or Technical Sales within the automotive sector, ideally with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.
- Solid understanding of the RFQ process, pricing, and technical proposal preparation.
- Strong technical background with the ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and engineering data.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong project management and problem-solving skills
- Fluent in Swedish and strong English language skills
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
