Senior Lead Software Engineer – Distributed Storage Systems

What You Will Do
· Mentor and share your knowledge with a more junior team.
· Design, implement, and maintain distributed storage systems, including object, block, and file storage.
· Build core components from first principles to optimize performance across the technology stack.
· Improve existing storage systems to ensure high reliability, low latency, and efficient resource usage.
· Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and incorporate feedback into future designs.
· Integrate and maintain open-source components within a growing technology ecosystem.
· Contribute to measuring, monitoring, and improving performance, scalability, and reliability benchmarks.
Skills & Experience
· Strong background in storage technologies and distributed systems.
· Proficiency in Linux systems engineering and distributed systems development.
· Programming experience in languages such as C++, Go, and/or Rust.
· Experience building or enhancing clustered storage solutions (e.g., Ceph).
· Experience building or enhancing large-scale cloud storage platforms.
· Knowledge of Kubernetes, including deployment of highly available services.
· Deep understanding of file systems, databases, storage protocols, and hardware interfaces (e.g., NVMe, SATA/SAS).
· Knowledge of performance tuning, benchmarking, and optimization techniques.
· Strong interpersonal skills; able to communicate and collaborate effectively.
· Capable of making independent technical decisions.
· Self-driven and motivated to solve complex problems.
