Background
At Cytiva, Uppsala, we develop and design Biacore systems for delivery of high-quality label-free interaction analysis data. A task we have been devoted to for the last 30 years. An important part of our work is to develop applications and methodology for the system to support our customers and to show the capabilities of the technology. We also develop consumables such as sensor chips and capture kits to be used with the instrument.

Objective
The objective of this project is to develop innovative methodologies for Biacore systems to enable characterization of novel molecules emerging from the evolving landscape of biotherapeutic modalities.

A key area of expertise at Cytiva in Uppsala is the development and production of resins used for purification of biomolecules such as proteins and antibodies. These resins typically contain ligand molecules that selectively bind to the target biomolecule. This project aims to repurpose these ligand molecules by coupling them to Biacore sensor chips, enabling novel applications in relevant areas of life sciences.

What You'll Do

  • Perform a lab-based research project related to the described application area.
  • Participate in the planning and progress of the project.
  • Document findings in the electronic lab journal and in a report.
  • Present findings and outcome of project to relevant people within Biacore RnD.

Who You Are

  • MSc student in relevant life science discipline.
  • Eligible for master thesis work between January 2026 – June 2026.
  • Experience of and strong interest in laboratory work.
  • Motivated and goal-oriented professional with a proactive approach to achieving results.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
