We are hiring Backend Engineer – Java/Scalafor the position based in Sweden (Remote).

Educational Qualification: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Backend Engineer with expertise in Java/Scala to join our team building settlement and cash processing systems that drive financial operations across multiple markets, product lines, and partners. The systems you'll work on are critical for processing millions of daily transactions, generating compliant financial records, and supporting regulatory requirements globally.

Required Experience/Competences:

  • 7–8 years of professional experience in Backend or Data engineering.
  • Strong experience with Java and/or Scala for backend or data processing.
  • Familiarity with batch/streaming frameworks such as Spark, Flink, or Beam.
  • Solid understanding of System design, Data structures, and Algorithms.
  • Experience building scalable backend systems and processing large-scale transactional/financial data.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native development, ideally on Google Cloud Platform.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Focus on code quality, testing, documentation, and maintainable, user-centric platforms.
