About the Role

We are supporting a world-class Wireless Baseband Lab - the place where system, software and silicon converge to define the performance limits of next-generation wireless network.

As the
Director of the Wireless Baseband
, you will lead the direction, architecture, and innovation agenda that shape the baseband systems and SoC platforms powering future wireless products.

You will lead an integrated team of system architects, software and algorithm experts, and SoC specialists - building and contributing from early-stage concept to competitive, productization architecture.

Your Mission

  • Set the technical vision
    for next-generation baseband systems - defining how physical layer algorithms, software architecture, and SoC design co-evolve for optimal performance, power, and scalability.
  • Drive system-level architecture studies
    to explore new PHY/MAC concepts, AI-enabled baseband features, and multi-core compute architectures for real-time radio processing.
  • Lead SoC architecture definition
    in collaboration with chipset design teams - ensuring the lab's work translates into measurable performance (PPA) gains and silicon competitiveness.
  • Guide baseband software and firmware evolution -
    enabling high-performance PHY/MAC implementation, simulation environments, and system validation frameworks.
  • Collaborate globally
    with algorithm developers, hardware and software teams, and RAN system architects to ensure seamless integration from concept to product.
  • Mentor and grow
    a multi-disciplinary team of top engineers and researchers - building a sustainable expert ecosystem around baseband innovation.

You Bring

  • 15+ years of experience in
    wireless baseband development,
    SoC architecture, or system-level algorithm design.
  • Deep understanding of the
    physical layer (PHY)
    ,
    MAC
    , and
    real-time baseband architecture
    for 4G/5G/6G systems.
  • Proven experience in
    SoC design or system architecture -
    with fluency in the interactions between algorithms, compute architectures, and implementation constraints.
  • Strong technical leadership and the ability to guide cross-domain teams (system, SW, HW) toward unified architecture.
  • Strategic insight into
    wireless evolution trends -
    from AI-assisted PHY processing to heterogeneous compute architectures.
  • Excellent communication skills and a track record of
    influencing research direction or product architecture
    across organizational boundaries.

Preferred

  • Previous leadership in
    baseband or modem SoC programs
    ,
    DSP/AI compute architectures
    , or
    advanced PHY/MAC system R&D
    .
  • Global exposure - collaboration with chipset vendors, research institutes, or standards groups.
  • PhD or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
