We are looking for a highly skilled
Embedded Software Engineer
with strong experience in
thermal and climate systems
to join our client. In this role, you will work with cutting-edge HVAC, battery cooling, and powertrain thermal management technologies, contributing to the development of safe, efficient, and intelligent thermal functions for next-generation vehicles.

You will be responsible for developing embedded C software, integrating AUTOSAR components, implementing diagnostics, and collaborating across hardware, controls, and calibration teams. This is a hands-on engineering position requiring technical depth, problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality embedded solutions.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Work directly with HVAC, battery cooling, and powertrain cooling systems, ensuring robust temperature, airflow, and energy management across the vehicle.
  • Implement and validate thermal control strategies, including PID loops, state machines, and actuator control logic for pumps, valves, compressors, heaters, and fans.
  • Develop and maintain embedded C software for thermal and climate control ECUs, including requirements tracing, software debugging, and documentation.
  • Perform SIL and HIL testing to ensure correct functionality of thermal features.
  • Configure and integrate AUTOSAR Basic Software (BSW) modules such as OS, COM, Memory, ECU Abstraction, and Complex Device Drivers.
  • Integrate and validate thermal application software components (SWCs) via the AUTOSAR RTE using tools such as Vector DaVinci, ETAS ISOLAR, or EB Tresos.
  • Implement UDS diagnostics for thermal control modules and ensure correct communication over CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
  • Use INCA, CANape, or similar calibration tools for parameter tuning, verification, and function validation.
  • Debug vehicle networks using CANoe/CANalyzer and ensure robust thermal software communication.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Controls, or related field.
  • Mandatory: Hands-on experience in thermal/climate systems (HVAC, battery cooling, powertrain cooling)

  • Strong understanding of control theory (PID, state machines).
  • Proficiency in Embedded C programming.
  • Solid experience with AUTOSAR BSW, RTE, and SWC integration.
  • Experience with Vehicle network protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
  • Experience with SIL/HIL testing for embedded thermal functions.
  • Working knowledge of UDS diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with model-based development (MATLAB/Simulink is a plus).
