BICO is seeking an execution-oriented Chief Operations and Digital Officer to lead the global operations team, including driving compliance and digital transformation agenda. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, digital enablement, and scalable business processes across the organization. In this role, you will oversee manufacturing and supply chain operations, QA/RA, IT, sustainability efforts and digital services as well as ensure alignment with our operating model and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership
: You will lead global operations across outsourced manufacturing, supply chain, QA/RA, digital services, ensuring compliance with GMP and other regulatory standards. You will also translate company strategy into daily operations through structured planning and execution and drive process development and reengineering to improve efficiency, scalability, and quality.

Digital Transformation & IT:
This role will own the digital transformation roadmap, focusing on practical implementation and business enablement. This includes leading Digital Service functions including infrastructure, cybersecurity, applications, and data governance. It also includes to assess and integrate new technologies and to promote adoption of digital tools and automation across the organization to enhance transparency and agility.

Strategic Execution & Business Enablement:
You will support the evolution of our CDMO model through the global manufacturing team, as well as business process development and QA/RA. This requires close collaboration with the commercial and R&D teams to ensure operational readiness and alignment with strategic goals and to foster continuous improvement.

This role is part of the Executive Management Team and reports to the President and CEO. Global operations comprises around 30 people, of which 3-4 are direct reports.

Desired Background

• Masters Degree in Engineering, IT, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in life sciences or GMP-regulated environments in a global role.
• Proven experience in managing core business operations, and implementing strategic initiatives and change management.
• Strong understanding of process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent), with practical application in re-engineering efforts.
• Demonstrated success in leading digital transformation and IT modernization projects.
• Experience in working with German and US operations, understanding and/or speaking German highly desirable.
• Fluent in Swedish and English, verbally and in writing.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
