Coalesce Management Consulting (CMC) has a consulting assignment available for a Senior Software Engineer to support a critical avionics project based on-site in Jönköping.

We're looking for an experienced Software developer/engineer with a background in aeronautical or avionics systems to join a long-term development programme. This assignment is suited to a senior engineer who thrives in safety-critical environments, is strong with documentation and requirements, and enjoys contributing both technically and through structured engineering processes.

You'll be involved in:

  • Working closely with avionics and systems engineers to validate, analyse and refine software requirements
  • Reviewing, writing and updating documentation to ensure full compliance with DO-178C
  • Performing code reviews and supporting coding tasks, with approximately 30 percent hands-on development in C
  • Contributing to system-level architecture discussions around IMA, CPIOM and AFDX networked avionics
  • Supporting internal teams to ensure design decisions, documentation, and test evidence align with certification expectations
  • Helping the team identify technical gaps and ensuring development is progressing in the right direction

To suit the project requirements, you must have:

  • 5+ years of experience in aeronautical engineering, avionics software, or airborne systems
  • Strong experience with C programming in safety-critical or embedded environments
  • DO-178C experience (minimum one year)
  • Background working with IMA platforms, CPIOM modules, AFDX networks or ARINC 664
  • A solid understanding of requirements engineering, documentation, and software lifecycle processes
  • Experience with BITE or aircraft systems diagnostics is highly beneficial
  • Python knowledge is desirable for testing or automation
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to work closely within established teams
