At Avarda, you will have the opportunity to be part of an exciting journey as we build a state-of-the-art platform that transforms how e-commerce merchants handle payments. As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and developing our frontend solutions.

Our frontend platform is based on React and Elm stack, mainly deployed in Azure.

We have a distributed tech team with employees in Borås, Stockholm, Gdansk, Malaga, and a partner in the Czech Republic. Our payment and card services are used in 13 European markets, and travel may be required.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing scalable, maintainable frontend solutions using React and Elm.
  • Collaborating with designers and backend developers to deliver seamless user experiences.
  • Leading code reviews, mentoring junior developers, and contributing to the team's growth.
  • Optimizing application performance and ensuring cross-browser compatibility.
  • Advocating for best practices in frontend development, including testing, accessibility, and security.
  • Keeping up to date with new technologies and suggesting innovative solutions.

We believe you have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in frontend development.
  • Expertise in React and experience with Elm (or a willingness to quickly learn Elm).
  • Deep understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Good understanding of UX principles.
  • Proven ability to design and develop complex web applications.
  • Experience with state management tools (e.g., Redux, etc.) and frontend build tools (e.g., Webpack, Vite).
  • Knowledge of testing tools (e.g., Jest, Cypress).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a focus on clean, maintainable code.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in a team environment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Elm.
  • Experience with functional programming.
  • Knowledge of backend development.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
