Overview

We are seeking an experienced
Health and Safety Manager
to oversee all safety-related activities on a large-scale Data Center construction project located in
Eskilstuna, Sweden
. The role requires strong leadership, knowledge of local and EU health & safety legislation, and the ability to drive a positive safety culture on site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the project-specific Health & Safety Plan.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with Swedish Work Environment Authority (Arbetsmiljöverket) regulations and all relevant EU directives.
  • Lead incident investigations and prepare detailed reports with corrective actions.
  • Deliver safety training and toolbox talks to site personnel and subcontractors.
  • Liaise with project management, client representatives, and external bodies regarding safety performance.
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance and enforce project safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation, permits, and records.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote a proactive safety culture.

Requirements

  • Degree or certification in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role within construction, ideally on data center or large industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Swedish H&S regulations and EU standards.
  • Experience in high-risk construction environments (MEP installation, lifting operations, civil works).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work on-site full time in Eskilstuna.
  • Fluency in English; Swedish language skills are an advantage.
