About the role:
As a valued member of our Helpdesk team consisting currently of 6 colleagues, you will play a central role in ensuring smooth and effective IT Support at ESS. Your primary responsibilities will include resolving incidents and service requests, either registered in our ticket system or reported directly by users visiting the IT Helpdesk. Collaborating closely with your colleagues you will tackle a variety of tasks such as installations, maintenance of laptops and workstations, support for equipment, systems and applications.

You are equally comfortable working independently or as part of a team, and you appreciate and understand the importance of structured processes and thorough documentation. Your responsiveness to user inquiries and enthusiasm for interacting with people will be key to your success in this role.
Day-to-day, you will:
- Man the IT Helpdesk
- Configure and deploy client computers and phones
- Troubleshoot computer hardware - and software issues
- Troubleshoot issues with conference rooms equipment
- Troubleshoot issues with printers
- Handle purchases of IT related equipment and software
- Handle repair cases
- Handle hardware life cycle
- Read technical manuals, confer with users
- Write or uppdate Supporter guides and knowledgebase articles
- Maintain computer- and screen inventory
- Collaborate with other groups to solve issues
Duration & Location
- This is a permanent, full-time position with a 6 months' probationary period based at the ESS campus in Lund, Sweden.
About you:
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience either as a support technician working in an IT Helpdesk, helping people both in person, remote and by phone, in other similar type of position or equivalent education.
- Strong knowledge in Windows 10 and 11, Mac OS, IOS and Linux (essentially Ubuntu) distributions as an administrator or power user is a necessity.
- Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office365
- Experience with meeting room support (Crestron- and Poly control systems)
- Experience in advanced hardware troubleshooting of laptops and workstations
- Experience working in the Identity & Access management platform OneIdentity
- Experience in Microsoft Active Directory
- Experience in client backup software
- Basic understanding of networks
- Effective English communication skills, both spoken and written, knowledge of other European languages would be considered as a big plus
- Experience of working in an international environment is beneficial
- Relevant Certifications. e.g. as an MCDST (Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) would be a significant advantage.
