Role Overview

A Health and Safety Officer is required to support the delivery of large-scale data centre construction projects in Eskilstuna, Sweden. The role will involve overseeing site-based health and safety practices, ensuring compliance with local legislation, contractor standards and project-specific safety requirements on a complex, fast-paced construction site.

This position suits an experienced Health and Safety professional with proven data centre experience who is comfortable working within Tier 1 main contractor environments and managing safety performance across multiple work fronts and subcontractor packages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and implement the project health and safety strategy in line with company and statutory requirements
  • Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with Swedish health and safety legislation and project standards
  • Carry out regular site inspections, audits and toolbox talks across all construction activities
  • Review and assess RAMS, method statements and risk assessments for subcontractor works
  • Investigate incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions, ensuring corrective actions are implemented
  • Maintain accurate health and safety records, reports and site documentation
  • Work closely with project management, site teams and subcontractors to promote a strong safety culture
  • Support ongoing improvement of health and safety performance across the project lifecycle

Requirements

  • Degree, diploma or recognised qualification in Health and Safety or a related discipline
  • Proven experience working as a Health and Safety Officer on data centre construction projects
  • Experience working with a Tier 1 main contractor or on large-scale, complex construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction health and safety systems, inspections and compliance processes
  • Ability to engage effectively with site teams and subcontractors at all levels
  • Strong organisational and reporting skills

Package

  • Salary €75,000 to €85,000 depending on experience
  • Living away allowance paid in addition to base salary
