We are looking for an experienced
Optical Design Coordinator
to act as the key technical interface between
RA Optical Systems
and Application Projects. In this role, you will support customer-facing technical discussions, drive optical investigations, and ensure clarity around camera assumptions of use (AoU) for automotive camera systems, always balancing technical excellence with business and customer priorities.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field with
5+ years of experience
in optical systems/camera systems engineering - Expertise in
optics, imaging systems, and camera module design
(automotive experience is a plus) - Proven ability to
lead technical investigations
and coordinate cross-functional expert teams - Good communication and stakeholder management skills, including interaction with
OEMs, Tier-1, and Tier-2 suppliers - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and influence technical decisions across teams
Responsibilities
- Serve as the
main technical point of contact
representing RA Optical Systems in customer meetings led by Application Projects - Provide technical support and clarifications regarding
camera assumptions of use (AoU)
and vehicle installation constraints - Lead and coordinate
customer-specific optical investigations and design reviews
, ensuring optimal solutions - Support post-RFQ activities by resolving technical inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and aligning on design requirements
- Maintain and update key documentation such as
camera AoU specs, Tier-1 agreements, project records, and technical communications
