Senior Procurement Manager

Textile waste is a growing global challenge. Syre's mission is to decarbonize and dewaste textiles, starting with the world's biggest fiber, polyester. By implementing true textile-to-textile recycling at hyperscale, we want to drive the transition from a linear to a circular value chain by putting textile waste to use, over and over again.

Syre is now looking for a Senior Procurement Manager that will be responsible for supporting overall commercial negotiation processes for our giga-scale project in Vietnam. This person should be located in Ho Chi Minh City, and should ensure to build partnerships with both local and international companies. In addition, you should be able to set-up procurement processes and routines to enable structured Procurement sourcing activities. Key tasks and responsibilities

• Support the creation of negotiation strategies across key categories (consultancy services, engineering services, green energy sourcing, and CAPEX packages).
• Contribute to developing procurement structures, operating processes, and governance guidelines to be implemented across the project and future phases.
• Ensure complete, accurate, and compliant scopes of work in collaboration with engineering, energy, finance, and legal, reducing commercial risks and preventing cost overruns.
• Conduct supplier scouting, identify qualified partners, and support evaluations of relevant technologies, products, and services.
• Execute structured RFI/RFP/RFQ processes, manage supplier communication, coordinate clarifications, support bid evaluations, and prepare contract award recommendations.
• Prepare commercial analyses, cost benchmarks, and negotiation materials to support senior stakeholders during contract negotiations.
• Support risk assessments, commercial due diligence, and ensure vendor compliance with Syre governance, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain procurement documentation, including tender logs, contract registers and supplier communication records.
• Assist in planning and tracking procurement timelines, ensuring alignment with engineering deliverables, project milestones, financing timelines, and internal approvals.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships that support competitive pricing, quality performance, and long-term partnership potential.
• Actively contribute to continuous improvement of procurement workflows, templates, and processes across the project.
• Implement and apply a sourcing with high intercity and in accordance with the global compliance policies of Syre. 

• A Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering. Degree's within Business or Supply Chain could be considered.
• 10–15+ years of experience in procurement, commercial, or sourcing roles within industrial, engineering, or large project environments.
• Strong commercial and negotiation capability, with exposure to multi-million USD packages.
• Proven experience in international sourcing and working with global suppliers.
• Experience supporting procurement in CAPEX, EPC, EPCM, or industrial construction projects is an advantage.
• Ability to translate technical input into clear commercial scopes, sourcing strategies, and negotiation packages.
• Experience coordinating with external technical advisors and engineering consultants.
• Strong analytical capability including skills in cost analysis, financial/commercial modeling, and risk evaluation.
• Excellent English and Vietnamese communication skills: verbal, written, and negotiation.
• Strong stakeholder management with cross-functional teams.
• Hands-on mindset and comfortable managing end-to-end procurement tasks independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Adaptable, structured, proactive, and comfortable with uncertainty in a start-up/scale-up context.
• Previous experience working in Vietnam or Southeast Asia, or within emerging markets, is a strong plus.
• Understanding of greenfield/large-scale project dynamics and high sense of ownership.
