Senior Electronics Hardware Design Engineer

We are looking for an experienced
Electronics Hardware Design Engineer
to join an innovative team developing the next generation of powertrain control systems. You will work in a high-performing environment focused on creating sustainable and efficient solutions for both hybrid and fully electric drivetrains.

This is a
one-year assignment with the possibility of extension
, offering you the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge technology development within the automotive industry. Your expertise will play a key role in shaping future mobility solutions.

The Role

As a
Design Engineer
, you will act as the
Component Owner
for key control units such as the Engine Control Module (ECM) or Inverter. You will take full responsibility for the product throughout its entire lifecycle — from concept and design to industrialization and series production.

You will serve as the main technical contact for both suppliers and internal stakeholders, ensuring robust design and integration across systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the hardware design and lifecycle management of electronic control units (ECUs).
  • Drive the industrialization of automotive electronics from concept to production.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive standards and best engineering practices.
  • Manage challenges related to EMC, load handling, and circuit board pin functionality.
  • Collaborate closely with software engineers and system architects to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Act as a technical expert and primary interface for suppliers and internal teams.

Your Profile

  • Master's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in electronics hardware development within the automotive industry.
  • Strong background in the industrialization of automotive ECUs.
  • Deep understanding of communication protocols, EMC performance, loads, and circuit board design.
  • Good knowledge of software interaction and ECU topology.
  • Experience from major automotive companies in Western Sweden is considered a strong merit.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of technical solutions.
  • Fluent in both English and Swedish, spoken and written.
