Interim Product Design Lead at Sellpy

In short, you will 

Lead and inspire a team of four skilled UX and UI designers

Get hands-on by contributing directly to daily design work

Own and evolve Sellpy's design system to ensure consistency and an effective way of working

Mentor and support designers, helping them grow through coaching and guidance

Improve design processes to increase productivity

Plan and prioritize design work effectively

Ensure excellent collaboration and communication between the product design team and the rest of Sellpy—fostering transparency, shared understanding, and effective teamwork across functions

Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver seamless, enjoyable and impactful user experiences

Influence product direction by aligning user and business needs and contributing to strategic planning, roadmaps, and prioritization

Grow awareness and understanding of design's impact across the organization

Recruit future design talent by participating in hiring processes and onboarding new team members

Requirements

Education & Experience

4-5 years of UX design experience in building software products especially customer facing, B2C products like ecommerce

Excellent problem-solving skills and a love for UX challenges

Have experience in working with cross-functional teams in iterative product development cycles

A passion for great leadership and seeing team members grow

B.S or M.S. degree in Engineering, Design or a related field

Written and spoken fluency in English

Skills

Expertise in user-centered design and design thinking methodologies, from problem discovery to solution delivery

Experience with conducting user research, facilitating ideation, creating prototypes and designs, running user tests, and extracting actionable insights to inform product decisions

Experience working with Figma (our primary design tool at Sellpy)

Experience working with design systems

Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2)

Able to assess the trade-offs between design impact and implementation effort to deliver high-value outcomes efficiently

You bring strong empathy, communication, and collaboration skills, enabling you to lead and work effectively with cross-functional teams. You plan and prioritize design work with a strategic view, guide and inspire others, and foster a positive team culture. As a clear communicator, you advocate for design decisions, bridge the needs of design, development, business, and users. You are a team player with strong leadership skills and have the ability to work without ego. At Sellpy we are all friends and we care for each other.

Location: You are welcome to do all these things at our new office at Medborgarplatsen in Stockholm, and from home.

Hybrid work: We work flexibly with a hybrid setup. During the onboarding phase, you are expected to spend more time in the office to get to know the team and the role. Over time, most roles include around 50% office presence, with some variation depending on team and tasks.

Form of employment: Full-time, temporary

Start: 1st October or 1st November

End: 1st March 2027
