Profundus is a life science start-up specializing in the development of a groundbreaking camera and software system for advanced retinal imaging, utilizing adaptive optics. The primary mission is to enable early detection, prevention, and treatment of various diseases by identifying changes in retinal microstructures. With a strong vision to make a significant impact in retinal imaging diagnostics, the goal is to benefit patients worldwide.
The company is located in modern, spacious offices at Krokslätts Fabriker, where the team works closely together in a collaborative environment. The production facilities are also on-site, ensuring seamless interaction between development and manufacturing.
Tasks and responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be maintaining and improving a highly specialized medical device used in advanced imaging applications. Your focus will be on product care and improvements, ensuring stability and adapting the software to integrate with customer systems. Beyond technical execution, you'll help shape workflows, maintain high standards, and prepare for future innovation as the company moves toward developing new products.
In this role, you will work in an agile, cross-functional R&D setup alongside passionate and purpose-driven colleagues. You will collaborate closely with hardware engineers and contribute to processes and documentation in line with regulatory requirements. This means working strategically and without prestige, ensuring compliance and quality at every step.
You will be part of a small, dynamic team where your ideas and decisions will contribute to the company's success.
Education, experience and personal characteristics
• Master's degree in engineering within relevant field
• Experience with Python development
• Experience working with software that interacts with a physical product
• Experience of software verification and validation
• Experience from working in a regulated industry according to a Quality Management System, for example ISO 13485
• Fluent in English, written and spoken. Swedish is a bonus
