We are looking for a candidate that has built a good intuition in machine learning methodologies and practices when applying them in different domains.

Your role within our Kingdom:

You´ll be part of AI Labs, a research team within King's AI Center of Excellence. AI Labs support business to solve communal modelling challenges in machine learning use cases, as well as explore state of the art to unlock opportunities to bring value to the company. As a member of AI Labs, you will be working closely with other Research Engineers in the Labs focusing on mid term or long term research projects, as well as working with ML Engineers, and Data Scientists supporting them to develop and operationalize machine learning (ML) models as part of King's central machine learning initiatives. Our team investigates different research areas on automation at scale for game content, player experience optimization, AI trustworthiness, and new emerging technologies.

As an Applied ML Researcher at King, you will be researching, prototyping, and implementing to advance our games and business applications to the next level by using the latest research in the field of ML including deep neural networks for supervised, unsupervised and reinforcement learning, generative models, self-supervised learning models and more conventional ML methods. With over 250 million monthly active users and 50+ billion events being uploaded daily, you´ll really have a lot of data to play with. Together with your team members you´ll get to learn on the job every day

Skills to create thrills

So what about you? You probably have hands-on experience in various ML projects; Or maybe, you have been conducting applied research in the area of machine learning in academia for a few years and curiosity on real-world challenges took over and you moved to industry to solve problems through automation and AI/ML solutions. You like mentoring, enjoy experimenting with data and new modelling approaches, and technologies all to build top-class solutions.

Minimum requirements:

  • Proven research track record in Computer Science, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or other related fields
  • 5+ years of post-graduate academic or industrial experience in the field of machine learning or AI
  • Previous mentoring or supervision experience
  • Working experience of Tensorflow, Pytorch, Keras or similar frameworks
  • Experience in applying machine learning in real-world applications
  • General machine learning expertise, i.e. regression, classification, and clustering algorithms, time-series analysis, Bayesian methods, self-supervised methods, and generative models
  • Professional habits around model validation, testing, and tracking
  • Strong communication skills
  • A passion for analytics and diving into as well as experiencing the products on which you work
  • A passion to bring impact to our games through your applied ai research work

Bonus skills:

Have any sweet experiences with one or some of the following areas? Then we sure like to hear about them

  • Prototype-to-production engineering skills in Python, including standard methodologies such as proper documentation, library packaging, versioning, testing and task scheduling
  • Previous experience in representation learning
  • Experience mentoring AI/ML Researcher Engineers or AI/ML Engineers in a team
  • Contribution to open-source projects
  • Experience in distributed data processing and modelling
  • Experience building data pipelines and ML pipelines
  • Familiarity with a cloud solution - experience in GCP data products is preferred (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub to name a few)
  • Knowledge in SQL
  • We know that you are into games on some level (casual, console, board games, Uno etc.).
