Stockholm, Stockholm, Sweden Mojang Studios Full time 80,000 - 120,000 per year

Mojang Studios is best known as the creators of Minecraft, but we're also on a mission

to build a better world through the power of play.
Why play? Well, play is at the heart of everything we do. It's the blocky backbone of our games, the core of our development philosophy, and even the origin of our name. From the relentless experimentation of our endlessly inspiring community to the classrooms where Minecraft has become an essential teaching tool, play is the bedrock of our existence.
As Senior Producer for Minecraft Vanilla Gameplay, you will lead cross-functional teams to deliver delightful gameplay experiences to our global player community. You are responsible for driving all aspects of production with your two scrum teams, ranging from roadmap updates, quality validation, and milestone and sprint planning. You will coach other leaders, foster empowered and autonomous teams, and ensure alignment across a complex stakeholder landscape.

You will work closely with the product manager for your product area, as well as an engineering manager and a creative manager in the daily leadership of your teams. Reporting to one of our senior product managers, you will translate the overarching product vision for your area into actionable work for your teams, track production status in relation to the overall roadmap, and take decisive action to address deviations from the plan of record.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and maintain the team backlog. Lead and manage the development team to deliver high-quality game content on time.
  • Collaborate closely with the engineering and creative managers to foster an empowering, collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Ensuring transparent and consistent communication with internal and external stakeholders around the production status and dependencies.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve production processes to enhance efficiency and quality.

Required Skills:

  • Project Management: Proven experience in managing complex game development projects from concept to launch.
  • Team Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team. As senior producer, you ensure the team understands the project's planning and priorities to enable them to execute delivery successfully.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey project status and requirements to stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and address potential issues proactively.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of game development lifecycles, quality assurance processes, and platform compliance requirements.
  • Self-leadership: Thorough and analytical, and assertive when considering additional workload in relation to commitments.
  • Confident in speaking and writing in English, even on production details, technical and business terms.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in game production, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering high-quality game content on time and at quality.

Mojang Studios
Mojang Studios is a Microsoft-owned game developer. The company was founded in Stockholm, Sweden and has offices around the world, including Stockholm, Redmond, Tokyo, London, and Shanghai. We're always working on new and exciting ways to expand the Minecraft universe.
Our community is global and incredibly diverse. We keep this in mind when developing anything, as we want people to feel included in Minecraft. And in recruiting, our goal is to make Mojang Studios as diverse as our community.
We got started as a tiny indie developer, and part of our culture still reflects that heritage. But we're also proud to belong to Xbox Game Studios, which creates unique opportunities to grow and develop.
To help us achieve amazing things, we have built an equally amazing studio space. Situated right on the water by Söder Mälarstrand, it's filled to the brim with all the tools, toys and caffeine required to create world-class entertainment.
But in the end, it's the people of Mojang Studios that make this place truly special. When you join, you'll find yourself in the company of incredibly bright, warm, and creative individuals – all united and working toward a single goal. Come help us reach it
